Aluminium Roof
The Outlander has a roof made from aluminium. Not only does this make the car lighter and more fuel efficient it also lowers the centre of gravity thus reducing body roll.
Gear Shift Indicator
The Gear Shift Indicator encourages fuel efficient driving by indicating the optimal gear shifting points to the driver. The horizontal bar-type econometer and range remaining display are continuously updated depending on current driving style, providing a further visual incentive for economical driving.
MIVEC Diesel Engine
The 2.2-litre turbocharged intercooled diesel engine fitted to Outlander manual transmission models is an enlarged version of the ASX's new 1.8-litre unit, the world's first passenger car diesel to feature variable valve timing. MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control) improves both power delivery and fuel consumption, resulting in lower CO2 emissions.
